Janáček - Capriccio for Piano Left-hand and Chamber Ensemble

Dreamworks! West Forest Sinfonia's wind and brass sections perform dramatic and virtuoso works from two of the twentieth century's most original masters: Stravinsky's brilliantly scored Octet, full of wit and elegance, and written directly in response to a dream; and the rarely performed Capriccio for piano (left hand) and wind ensemble, written by Janáček for a pianist wounded in the first World War and originally titled Defiance, blending quirky humour, lyricism and great emotional depth.
